This section explains the circumstances in which we may change or cancel a tour.
We reserve the right to amend our typical itineraries at any time and at our discretion. As professionals, we will always try to avoid this; where it is necessary, we will provide alternative arrangements of comparable value.
Once your booking is confirmed, we will make every effort to provide the arrangements booked, but we reserve the right to alter or cancel all or part of a tour due to events beyond our control. These include, but are not limited to, force majeure events such as extreme weather or weather warnings, natural disasters, strikes or civil unrest, terrorist activity, fire and flooding. No compensation is payable for cancellations caused by force majeure.
If an attraction becomes available that we believe will enhance your experience of Northern Ireland, we reserve the right to include it in your best interests.
We reserve the right to reduce the price of our tours at any time.
If necessary, we reserve the right to engage other quality private vehicles, or to assign a tour to an operator of an equivalent standard to Belfast Tours NI, in order to carry passengers and fulfil the tour.
We offer flexibility on our multi-day tours. Unlimited changes may be made up to 30 days before the tour start date, subject to availability.
All amendment requests must be made in writing. Where an amendment is possible, a £50 administration fee per booking may apply, together with any additional costs incurred.
All cancellations must be made in writing and take effect from the date we receive them.
A 25% non-refundable tour design, booking and set-up fee is required to secure your services. This fee covers itinerary planning, quotations, administration and associated preparation work. Any tickets requiring immediate purchase are also non-refundable.
The remaining balance is due no later than 30 days before the tour start date.
In exceptional circumstances, we may, at our discretion, apply the non-refundable tour design and set-up fee toward a future booking.
If a cancellation or amendment occurs within 30 days of the tour date, only recoverable amounts (if any) will be refunded. In most cases, no recoverable amounts will be available at this stage.
Pre-booked tickets for events and attractions are strictly non-refundable.
Please note that booking fees and card transaction fees are non-refundable.

Belfast Tours NI does not sell travel insurance. We require all passengers to hold valid travel insurance for the duration of their tour.
Belfast Tours NI reserves the right to substitute visits and attractions when sites are closed or cannot be visited for reasons beyond our control.
On certain dates, including religious holidays and national celebrations, some monuments and sites may be closed, and itineraries may be amended to reflect these closures.
Occasionally, due to holidays, busy periods or unforeseen circumstances such as weather, there may be last-minute changes to the tour sequence or the locations visited. In such cases, there is no cost adjustment.
Monuments and tourist sites regularly undergo renovation, which can affect the view. No tour is cancelled due to renovation, and there is no cost adjustment; however, Belfast Tours NI will decide, based on the conditions, whether to amend an itinerary.
Accommodation is not included in our tours and is not arranged by Belfast Tours NI. Clients are responsible for booking and paying for their own accommodation. Please ensure your accommodation allows you to meet the agreed pick-up times and locations for your tour.
Items of a personal nature — such as meals, drinks and any expenses not specified in the tour itinerary — are not included and must be paid for by the passenger. Please note that our tours do not include entrance fees to attractions.
Luggage is carried at the owner’s risk throughout the tour unless separately insured. Personal items such as coats, phones, umbrellas and cameras remain entirely in the care of the passenger.
Gratuities for your driver-guide are not included in the tour cost and are entirely at your discretion.
Smoking is strictly prohibited in our vehicles. Frequent stops are made throughout the day, where you are welcome to smoke.
Belfast Tours NI cannot be held responsible for flight delays or any other travel difficulties.
Passengers are responsible for allowing sufficient time between the start and end of our tours and their other travel arrangements.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, such as inclement weather, some sites may be closed or inaccessible, and itineraries and timings are subject to change. Belfast Tours NI is not responsible if an attraction on a tour is closed due to extreme weather or other reasons beyond our control.
We cannot be held responsible for weather conditions. No booking can be cancelled or amended by you on the basis of weather. We accept no responsibility for weather that may affect the delivery of an itinerary, and there are no refunds for activities cancelled due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control.
We cannot accept responsibility or pay compensation where the performance of our services is prevented or affected by circumstances beyond our reasonable control. These include, but are not limited to, severe or adverse weather, fire, flood, road closures, accidents or traffic disruption, strikes or industrial action, civil unrest, acts of terrorism, epidemics or pandemics, government restrictions, and any other event that could not have been avoided even if all reasonable steps had been taken. Where a tour cannot go ahead for reasons of this kind, we will always do our best to offer a suitable alternative or to rearrange your tour for another date.
Clients must comply with the laws of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland while travelling with Belfast Tours NI, and are expected to respect local customs and regulations at all times.
It is a condition of booking that you follow the reasonable instructions of your appointed Belfast Tours NI driver or guide. For the safety and comfort of all passengers, we reserve the right to refuse carriage to, or remove, any passenger whose behaviour is disruptive, unsafe or inappropriate. In such circumstances, no refund or compensation is payable.
Passengers must arrive at agreed departure points on time. Due to the nature of our tours, we cannot delay departure for late arrivals and will not wait longer than 10 minutes beyond the scheduled departure time. Any guest who misses departure is not entitled to a refund or compensation.
Belfast Tours NI is not responsible for missed connections caused by delays beyond our control. While we aim to operate to schedule, timings cannot be guaranteed.
We reserve the right to refuse carriage to any passenger who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or whose behaviour poses a risk to the driver, the vehicle or other passengers.
Personal belongings are carried at the owner’s risk, and Belfast Tours NI accepts no responsibility for loss of or damage to personal property. If items are left in a vehicle, we will help return them; however, any postage or courier costs must be covered by the client.
In the unlikely event that you wish to make a formal complaint, please tell your Belfast Tours NI driver or representative at the time, so that we have the opportunity to put things right during your tour. If the matter cannot be resolved at the time, please put your complaint in writing to Belfast Tours NI as soon as is reasonably possible, and within 30 days of your tour, so that it can be investigated. We are unable to consider complaints made more than 30 days after the tour. You will be treated with respect and courtesy throughout.
Each passenger is responsible for their own travel arrangements and costs to and from the start and end points of the tour. It is the passenger’s responsibility to check the accuracy of the dates booked on receipt of their confirmation, and to ensure they hold a valid passport and any visas required.
Belfast Tours NI is not responsible for any personal injury, property damage or other loss arising from the acts or omissions of any third party — including any air carrier, public transport company, hotel, car rental company or subcontractor — whether or not that party is providing services connected with the tour.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Belfast Tours NI is not liable for any direct, indirect, consequential or incidental loss, injury, death, delay, inconvenience or irregularity caused by any act or omission beyond its control, including the default or insolvency of any supplier.

Belfast Tours NI reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to amend an itinerary where necessary or advisable, and to decline to accept or to remove any passenger from a tour where it considers this to be in the interests of the tour. Where a passenger is removed, our only obligation is to refund the portion of the payment relating to unused services.
Any limitation of liability in this clause applies to the maximum extent permitted by law. Each provision of this clause is severable; if any provision is found by a competent authority to be unlawful, void or unenforceable in whole or in part, the remaining provisions are unaffected. Changes to this Responsibility clause can be made only in writing, signed by a director of Belfast Tours NI.
Belfast Tours NI handles personal data in accordance with UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Belfast Tours NI accepts no responsibility for losses or expenses caused by delays or changes to schedules, flight cancellations or missed connections due to mechanical problems, illness, quarantine, weather, acts of God, strikes, government action, war, terrorism or other circumstances beyond our control. Such losses or expenses must be borne by the passenger.
As a safeguard against unforeseen circumstances, we require that you travel with comprehensive travel insurance, purchased at home before you travel with Belfast Tours NI.
If you miss your arranged pick-up for any reason, Belfast Tours NI will be glad to arrange a transfer so that you can re-join your guide and fellow travellers.
