Your tour will begin from your pickup location, where you will meet your driver/guide for the day. There we will begin our journey to the north coast travelling through the rolling farmland of County Antrim which has been used for the famous Game of Thrones TV Show.
Antrim Coast Road: The Antrim Coast Road is widely agreed to be one of the finest stretches of road anywhere in the world. The road hugs the coastline giving incredible seaside views, passing unspoiled beaches, and sheltering under rugged cliffs. You may even see Scotland on a good day!
Carnlough Village: Our first stop of the day takes us into the amazing picturesque fishing village of Carnlough for a quick comfort break. The village shop is a fitting end to your trip as you take in the quaint harbour used by pleasure boats and small fishing vessels in an area rich for both sea and freshwater angling.
This harbour although built in the nineteenth century during the famine years still retains an old-world charm, which meant that it didn’t seem out of place when it first appeared in Game of Thrones.
Causeway Coastline Views: We will continue to travel along the Causeway Coastal route between Ballycastle and Dunluce to experience one of the most dramatic drives in the world, now rated as one of the world’s top 5 great road journeys. We transport you by windswept cliffs, spectacular scenery, and fabulous unspoiled beaches.
Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge: Next stop we visit one of the most visited places in Northern Ireland amazing Carrick-a-Rede Rope bridge where you can, of course, cross the bridge which spans a chasm over 75ft in height. The lovely coastal path provides a spectacular walk with stunning sea and cliff views.
Those that do not wish to cross the bridge can use the time to take an enjoyable coastal walk or visit the charming tea room on the site. There is a small charge to cross the bridge.
White Park Bay: A Beautiful scenic beach at the very tip of Ireland and the closest country from here would be Iceland which is 800 miles away. we will stop there and take some beautiful photos and enjoy the views.
Our Next stop Giants Causeway, Commonly called ‘the 8th wonder of the world’, is the only World Heritage site in Ireland. During our stop here you can spend time climbing over the ancient stones, snapping photos, and reflecting on the myths and legends of this very unique area.
Entrance to the visitor’s centre is not included in the price if you want to access the café, shop, and visitor centre you can purchase your ticket at the Giants Causeway and you ticked allowing you to experience the visitor centre the history of the area including an audio guide to enhance your experience.
Lunch Stop: After visiting the Giants Causeway, we can stop for lunch in a nice Irish pub to sample our good food and maybe a cheeky pint of Guinness. Or you can sample some locally caught fish in one of the best fish and chips shops and of course not forgetting the mushy peas.
Old Bushmills Whiskey Distillery: Our next stop of the day is at Bushmills Whiskey Distillery which has been creating beautiful ‘water of life ‘since 1608 making this the oldest working distillery in Ireland.
Visit this place where family and friends have worked together for generations with the philosophy that handcrafting small batches is the way to create beautifully smooth whiskey. Your stop here allows time for a tasting of course!
Visitors to the distillery can take a guided tour and then leave with a bottle of Distillery Reserve 12-year Single Malt Whiskey, only available from the gift shop.
Tours start at the mash house, where the distilling process begins, and continue on to the still house, where whiskeys are distilled three times. The tour concludes in the bottling hall, where whiskey is bottled before being sent all around the world.
Dunluce Castle: We continue a wonderful day with a photo stop at Dunluce Castle. We arrive at one of the most dramatic castle ruins in the world. Prepare to be amazed at the way this old castle hangs over the edge of the cliffs.
The Dark Hedges: Our last stop is one of the most popular natural phenomena in Northern Ireland, the Dark Hedges were used as a set for the hit TV series Game of Thrones.
Featured Scene: Season 2, Episode 1: The North Remembers – On the King’s Road, Arya Stark has escaped from King’s Landing, disguised as a boy. She is with Yoren, Gendry, Hot Pie, and others who are to join the Night’s Watch, in a cart, travelling north on the King’s Road.
